Failed the peds CCRN

Published

So I just took the peds ccrn and failed by 1 lousy question!! I wanted to take the exam initially to get into CRNA school, which I'm not applying to anymore but since I already registered for the exam I went ahead and took it. I studied for 2-3months and honestly I felt like the exam was fairly easy. My question is should I try again and retake it? My hospital does increase pay for certification but not many people have it on my unit. Suggestions? What are the benefits of certification?

Retake it! Getting certified isn't ever going to hurt your career! Be glad you work at a place where you are rewarded for getting certified! I'm still working on studying for CCRN and my place doesn't pay jack for it, but I'm doing to to prove it to myself that I can succeed.

I think since you are already in "prep" mode & missed the scoring cut by 1 question - I would advise a quick retake and stay on a prep path. You are so close. Don't quit now. I have NEVER regretted certification. Ever.

It's worth it. You got this this.

Good luck.

Retake it! I failed the adult CCRN the first time I took it by 2 questions. I took it again a few months later and passed by 12 questions!! It's awesome your hospital increases pay for it but it is really awesome to say you're certified. Something you can really be proud of!! You can do it â˜ºï¸í ½í²‰
