Hi there, i have been reading this forum for quite some time and wanted to thank everyone for their input.
I have taken NCLEX 3 times, i have done the Anderson 5 day Review twice, book that i used to study.
Anderson Review Book
Nclex 3500
LaCharity PDA
Saxton Comp review software
In every attempt for my nclex i have tried to do 100 question (Mon-Fr) i would arrive to my public library at 11am and stay until 5 pm. I would go over the review book section first and then do questions. Before the 3rd retake i read each and every rationale and would try to figure out what made me pick the wrong answer. For the nclex 3500 i would score around 70%, but some of the questions that i did i never even heard about before. The first two times i had 265 q, and the last time it was only 86q. English is my 2nd language, but if you meet me, you would never know that English is not my 1st language, i came here when i was 16 y.o. but when it comes to some terminology that i never heard before, seems like it throws me off.The 1st time when i took nclex: i had 1 of the sections above passing, one below and the rest near passing. The 2nd time i got 2 below passing, and the rest near passing. so go figure. I did not receive the report for my 3rd time just yet. I am getting really frustrated as you can imagine BUT do not want to give up. Obviously what ever i have been doing to study doesn't work, but i do not know how to change my routine, i felt that for my 3rd time i did everything right...Please Help
PS: between all the practice questions, i found nclex 3500 to be the closest to what nclex is.

but my teacher said, if you are retaking the test ur test score need up to 75%, if you are taking nclex rn first time then u need to get around 70% and also she said, nclex 4000 or nclex3500 the best thing to prepare you for the board.

i disagree with your teacher about nclex 3500/4000 being the best thing for helping, you should answer as many questions as you possibly can and write down those you missed and why you missed them, the nclex trainer questions by kaplan used to be online like 5 sets, lacharity, saunders for review, and exam cram(possibly the best, next to kaplan). it all boils down to answering as many questions as you can...so stop with the nclex 3500 and 4000, and try and get your hands on the kaplan questions, lacharity and exam cram..
let me know how that works out for you

I second that; this is exactly what I used and passed with 85 questions on my second try. You can do it.

First know your content, second practice as many questions as you can, read and understand the rationales and practice critical questions too.Because nobody pass with knowledge based questions only, you should know how to attack difficult questions too because that will help you pass.If you're at the testing center, read and understand each questions.Do not leave the questions until you are sure of your answer. If no I idea at all,try to look for the clue by scanning the choices.Good luck on your future exams.God bless us all.
thank you all for the kind words. u think i shall be doing content first and then follos the questions?how many questions is good number per day
thank you
