I was wondering what everyone's facility's calorie count policy is. Where I work, it is documented as a percentage of each individual item eaten on the tray. A nurse I worked with today mentioned how at her other job they document in mLs...I was kind of confused how this would work with things not in separate containers...like mashed potatoes, veggies, etc. Anyway, just curious :)

Policy & Procedure Manual :)
Hospitals I worked at got a written list of what was on the tray, and then we'd have to write the percentages of each item.
It's funny (not really) with regular tray intake recording, someone can eat the salad and peaches, and eat 1/3 of the food- but only 15% of the calories.

We write down the percentage of each food.

Same here we write down the percentage of each meal.
