eye protection question

A question to all you that scrub routinely about eye protection.

One of the scrub tech's I work with has been having trouble gaining proper eye (splash) protection while wearing her prescription glasses.

Any advice or companies out there that may be able to help.

Side shields and under the glasses seem to be the most problem.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi Mike,

There are face masks available that have a very high eye shield incorporated with them. My ortho C.R.N. wears them when she scrubs and she has never had a problem. Hope this helps.

have this person try turning a mask with the visor splash upside down. this is how a lot of the cst's at my hospital wear them while wearing script glasses.

I wear Rx. glasses and wear the plastic face shield over my face. I don't have problems with it. It is well padded and fits nicely over my hat.
