Hello all!
I'm new to this site and am interested in going to Canada to practice as an RN (in Vancouver). I live in Australia and was educated and trained here. I was reading that when applying (on the British Columbia website) it says that we must have paediatric and maternal health in our education which my undergrad didn't really cover. I was wondering if others have had to undertake additional study before taking the exam, if so what courses and where, how long for etc. I find it rough that we can't sit the CRNE outside of Canada as it's so expensive to fly there from Australia. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Canadian train as generalist so hours (clinical and theory) in Paeds and Obstetrics will be required. You could try and find something in Australia and then ask the College of RN's for BC if the course would be acceptable.
Thanks, yeah as far as I can remember we might have covered some paeds at uni but not obstetrics. There's definitely a lot to cover and by the time I get around to organising everything the crne will probably have become the nclex-rn as of next yr.
