Expungement

Hello Nurses,

I was convicted of a felony 24 years ago and this is a huge cloud over my head. If I get it expunged can Florida BON still see it. I'm trying to get compact license O want to travel.
Thanks in Advance

You would still have to answer "Yes" to "have you ever been arrested, etc" so I'm not sure it would matter if it were expunged

As of May 2023, the Florida application did not ask about arrests. The specific question about legal history was:

" Have you ever been convicted of, or entered a plea of guilty, nolo contendere, or no contest to any crime in any jurisdiction other than a minor traffic offense? You must include all misdemeanors and felonies, even if adjudication was withheld.

Reckless driving, driving while license suspended or revoked (DWLSR), driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while impaired (DWI) are not minor traffic offenses for purposes of this question.

If you responded "Yes," you must provide the following..."

If you get your DUI expunged, in many states you are legally allowed to answer "no" to questions like the one above.  Personally, I would talk to a Florida attorney experienced in RN licensing, and I would also work to get the charge expunged.

Hope this helpos
