Experience with Gambro?

I would also like any info. anyone has on Gambro, I'm looking at going into Dialysis and the clinics in my area are Gambro and DCI, so any input would be helpful. Also if anyone has gone through training with either of these companies I'd be interested in hearing what in includes. I've been a nurse 12 yrs(ICU) and am looking at a change. Thanks!!

I worked for Gambro for one year (chronics), and have found them to have very poor management personnel. For example, when our clinic went from 3days/week to 6 days/week, the only ones not made to work every Saturday were the boss' favorites.

It went on and on...not just our clinic either, but many in our general area as well. They are cheap, cheap, cheap.....and before you accept a position - get your days IN WRITING, or they will do with you whatever they want. When I tried to open the lines of communication with my center director and put my concerns in writing - all it got me was a "NO REHIRE". So, needless to say, I don't have too much I can tell you positive about Gambro.

I HAVE WORKED IN HEMODIALYSIS AS A PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN AS WELL AS REUSE TECH FOR A FREE STANDING CLINIC FOR APPROX. 6 YEARS AND FOR GAMBRO FOR ABOUT ONE AND A HALF YEARS. I AM NOW A RECENTLY GRADUATED LPN WHO ALSO HAS A BACKGROUND IN MEDICINE.

GAMBRO IS AS GOOD A COMPANY AS THE NEXT. AS A COMPANY THEIR POLICIES ARE VERY FAIR AND THEIR BENEFITS ARE VERY GENEROUS. IT IS TRUE THAT THERE ARE CERTAIN BAD DIRECTORS OR MANAGERS BUT THAT IS TRUE IN OTHER PROFESSIONS ALSO, EVEN IN OTHER MEDICAL FIELDS. WHAT IS CERTAIN IS AN INDIVIDUAL'S ABILITY TO IGNORE SUCH PEOPLE AND CONCENTRATE ON THE TASK. I BELIEVE THAT NURSING SCHOOL TEACHES ONE TO BE MORE IN PERSPECTIVE OF THE TASK IN HAND THAN EVEN MEDICAL SCHOOL.

PLEASE DONT THINK THAT I AM WORKING FOR GAMBRO. I AM JUST BEING OBJECTIVE. I FOR ONE HAVE A PASSION FOR DIALYSIS AND AM MOVING BACK TO MY HOMETOWN .....SOUTH FLORIDA AND WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK TO DIALYSIS AS AN LPN NOW.

IF OFFERED A POSITION I WOULD AGAIN WORK FOR GAMBRO. TO THE NEW NURSES REMEMBER GAMBRO IS NOT THAT BAD A COMPANY AS THE NEXT ONE. THE QUESTION IS DO YOU LOVE DIALYSIS?
