Hi,

I am going to be enrolling in the Excelsior Nursing Associate Degree Program. Are there any other students of Excelsior that can give me some pointers? Anyone happy with their online experience with Excelsior? Anyone know of any problems with Excelsior that I should be aware of, to look for?

I would appreciate any responses.

Thank You,

Ellen

This has been a somewhat controversial topic in the past, but since you asked about potential problems, there have been reports that some (although certainly not all) hospitals won't hire Excelsior grads who might lack clinical experience.

Call your Board of Nursing and see what they have to say about it. Some boards will tell you they're ok, others will tell you they're not. You might want to check with your local hospitals too. Apparently, it varies from state to state.

For example, California just revised Excelsior requirements because of the above mentioned clinical issues. But other states gladly accept Excelsior without conditions.

Hi there !

If you go to the "distance learning " forum here, you will find numerous threads and posts on EC as well as many VERY satisfied EC Grads... myself included. You should be able to find answers to all your questions there.

Wish you the best ! It was the best thing I ever did for myself... no regrets whatsoever! :)

Please let me know if there is anyone else in the Ft. Lauderdale area doing Excelsior. I am about to sign up.
