Anyone get the readings and test out for Ethics through Excelsior? I have had the books a couple months and have done some reading, but it is so boring. I am wondering how much you actually need to study for these tests. I would like to wing it, but the tests cost so much I would hate to fail. Any words of wisdom?
Thanks
Jessica

If there is anything new you are reading, doesn't matter if it is boring. At least read through it and write down anything you didn't know already, unless you've got money and time to spare. As you'll see, reading the posts here, one person's easy test is another one's hard test.
The last time I thought I had a test locked up and didn't devote much time to it (everything I read was familiar and boring) I failed it. If I hadn't, I'd be done by now, because money is the main thing holding me up and another $205 and tomorow would be my last NC test.

Very wise words, Laurie888!
If the material is boring, then make succeeding at accumulating the info your task, not entertainment (although I agree, it is much nicer if you can do both).
Check if there is a file for etchics in the yahoo group called nontradnurses. Sometimes reading the notes of others and then googling the concepts you are not confident in is another way to learn the material.
There really are no shortcuts, but you can find less unpleasant ways to get the job done.
Good luck.
