Hi all,
Just wondering if it's possible to do case management on an evening and weekend basis only? Presently working most weekends, long hours (not a problem) and evenings now and then. Mainly revisits with some OASIS admissions thrown in there. Per diem employee. Problem is, not always a good day, could start out with 10 and 3 fall through. Need something more concrete that I could rely on more but unable to do days through the week at the minute. Any ideas? Pros/cons?
Thanks a bunch

I started working home health on weekends and finally took 1/2 days on Friday-- there is little hope of contacting doctors for anything not considered urgent outside office hours. Plus, recerts can become a hassle when they fall outside your work days. However, visit nurses are in high demand during these times. For a while, we would "co-case manage" clients; what you can't catch, your partner can. JMHO
Thanks for the reply Nancy. The more I think about it the more unreasonable it becomes. Can't imagine too many people wanting to see their primary nurse at night or on the weekend on any kind of regular basis. Guess I'll just keep plugging along doing what I'm doing. Thanks again. :-)

I think that Nancy is right it would be very difficult to get to docs and such. She also has a good idea of partnering with another person and share the job. Maybe a weekend super job might work?
