Try to think of an ethical dilemma you came across in a clinical experience.... it might seem small, but examining an experience you acually lived will make your paper stronger, and will give you a chance for introspection :)

something we talked about in class recently that my instructor has run into:

children who are HIV+ and their parents choose not to tell them. they get to a certain age when they start asking about all the medications they take. if the parents aren't truthful, the child will start asking the nurse. what do you tell the child? what if the parents insist on "waiting a while" but the child has confided in you that she has participated in behaviors that are precursors to sexual activity?

How about cancer patients whose families don't want them to know they have cancer?
