Essentials for nursing schools

I start the accelerated BSN in May and don't have much of an idea of what to get. I have a stethoscope, scrubs and that is about it. I have read about PDAs, etc, etc. Can anyone please share your opinions?

I am quitting my job so COBRA here I come:( Anyone know of an affordable insurance? Any little hint/idea/opinion will be greatly appreciated.

Most schools offer insurance plans. Your school should be sending information before your start date.

The school should also have a list of items you'll need. For clinicals it's usually something like:

Kelly clamps/hemostats

penlight

bandage scissors

very comfortable shoes that are compliant with school uniform policy

a small notebook that fits in your pocket to make notes on patients

lots of pens

calculator if allowed or

PDA-some schools require them

It's been a while, but that's about all I can remember.
