Episodic case manager

I have a job intervivew for an episodic care manager position with a local insurance company. I don't have any case management experience but I do have a BSN and 6.5 years of hospital nursing under my belt.

Can someone give me more information about this kind of job? I'm assuming it's like case managerment. I'm not really sure what the difference between care manager vs. case manager is.

The person who contacted me about the interview said "it is initially to begin as a 4-6 month contract with full intension to convert perm should the opportunity be a right fit for both parties but the hiring manager would be able to discuss more in-depth during an interview".

I'm very nervous about leaving full time hospital position at a job I hate for a temporary position. But it would be nice to get the experience and it does sound like there is some potential for a permanent position.
