end of NCLEX test...

does anyone know if the last few (say 3-4 questions) on the test are priority questions--does that mean you are above the level of passing when it shuts off?

i took the exam yesterday and I am so distraught. I graduated top of my class, took the Kaplan review..scored 85% on the readiness test etc, but I am sure I failed it. I know for sure i missed several of the safety and infection control questions for no other reason than I was just completely nervous and panicked. I started second guessing, reading into the questions and changing answers...ALL huge no--nos. I know better! I have never failed a test in my life...sucks that it has to be the one that matters the most! I just cannot believe that I could have passed knowing how many I missed in that certain area. I also had 12 SATA questions and I never do good on those. When the computer shut off at 75 I wanted to burst into tears I knew I didn't get enough questions to prove I was competent. :crying2:

I won't even know how to begin to prepare again other than to take xanax before goign in there. Knowledge isn't an issue, critical thinking isn't an issue...it was totally nerves...i could NOT calm down no matter how hard I tried. I wish I would have gone out for 10 mins and calmed myself down. Sigh....

Congrats to all those that have passed! Hopefully soon I'll be able to say the same thing...going to give myself a few days to regroup and get back on the horse again...

wow 85% on Kaplan is very good! I'm sure you did well on the NCLEX. The hardest part is staying calm, but if you practiced Kaplan, then answering those questions probably came as second nature. BTW, I think priority questions are up there in the difficulty level... my NCLEX ended with them. I'm still waiting for my results. GOOD LUCK!:D

I know what you are going through!! I took my test on 2/19 and mine shut off at 75 too. I did good on Kaplan and got a 72 on Test 6. I got 4 SATA and 7 math questions!!! I hope you did well and I hope we are both worrying for nothing!!

I'm just curious..what were your test scores in KAPLAN Q bank? did you pass?

Yes, I had in the 70%'s on every section when I completed all the Qbank questions. I got 80's on both the diagnositc and readiness exam during the weeklong Kaplan review class. I got 73 on qtrainer 6 and 74 on qtrainer 7. I test well normally and I usually have a little NORMAL test anxiety...what I experienced yesterday was anything BUT normal. :o I just could not calm down and focus and I started switching answers and reading into the questions and just doing everything i know NOT to do. I could kick myself....it's so disappointing. I keep going over questions in my head and i know I got several wrong...and those select all that apply are not ones i am counting on getting right--since statistically I didn't do well on that type of question. The worst part is the ones I got wrong were EASY questions...dunno why I was making them difficult! So I know in my heart I failed...still going to be heartbreaking to see that big fat F word. Its just been a rotten experience all the way around. I feel like I have PTSD! So I need to work on how to remain calm and confident in the test. I just worry that after one fail it's going to be hard to forget this awful experience! I don't want to go in there and have a repeat nightmare!

DOn't lose hope..I think you're gonna make it..Your scores are great in the review..what's your NCLEX state? Is it true that NCLEX Ca is harder compared to other states? My test scores in KAplan are 84,84,74,66,67,68,66... too bad my scores in the last 4 tests are not ok.....I'll be taking:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe the test tomorrow, just hope I will have the presence of mind and a short number of items..:nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse::nurse:
