Emetophobia

Has anyone ever successfully treated Emetophobia (fear of vomiting)? If so, how? Just so you know, I don't only have a fear of myself vomiting, but even worse is my fear of other people vomiting.

TIA :)

Desensitization therapy can be very successful if you work with a good therapist. It can be a somewhat long process, but specific phobias can usually be overcome. Cognitive behavior therapy has also been used. Best of luck to you!

I had successfully dodged my fear in my early exposure to healthcare (working in a family practice clinic) but when I went to clinicals for EMT school, I happened to mention to an ER nurse that I didn't like vomit. Stuck me in a room with a very drunk teenager who had been beaten in the stomach. Made me assist with an NG tube and the whole nine yards. Problem solved.
