I figured that would get some attention from the fellas!

I am starting accelerated BSN->FNP in a month or so, and I'm wondering about PDA/Palm/Handheld devices. Which ones are best? How much memory? Has it helped you on the floor? Best software for charts/dosage/etc.?

Thanks!

Ya sure got me with the subject line. I'm a sucker for gadgetry and doodads.

I've got a Palm Tungsten C that I've loaded with Davis' Drug Guide, Nurses Fast facts, an NCLEX review program, and a few other things that would ordinarily take a lot more pocket space. There are newer Palms out now, but the reason why I like the Tungsten C is because it has a keyboard on the front of it, which means that I don't need to take out the stylus, and do any writing on the screen. I've got each of the buttons on the front set to open a specific nursing application, and then once it's open I can type in the first couple of letters of what I'm looking for and up it comes.

It's been a great thing to have. http://www.palm.com/us/products/handhelds/tungsten-c/

When I write stuff for school, I sometimes email myself the content from the palm (drug info, mostly), pick up the email on my laptop, and just paste it into my work.

Hope this helps.
