Elective placement in Australia!!

Hi everyone just wondered if anyone had any information or advice on doing placements abroad. My friends and I really want to convince our college to let us do our end of course elective placement in Australia for 16 weeks! Even if anyone has worked in oz we would be very grateful for some advice or feedback on what it is like!!! cheersxx
