Elac Spring 2018 RN program

Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone has information about how to apply or what steps are necessary to apply to Elac college. I will finishing my prerequisites this June and I would love information when I take the TEAS test for this school. I'm planning to apply to every LACCD college, but Elac is the first school that starts their application period sooner...

any information would be appreciate it!

Hello PinkOlivee, I too plan to apply to Elac :) I plan to go next Monday to turn in the application, I am not sure on when they take the teas if at all, I actually have already taken the teas so I would just be sending my score over. I am curious about Elac and how they select people and is it a waitlist type of thing or what, I know it says on their website that everyone is picked via lottery but it also says, the application you turn in is not for any particular semester so I am curious if once you turn everything in are you just placed on a list or what, any information out there that anyone knows would be great :)

Hello!!! I need to go and get one I'm going this Friday for sure... you took the teas test in ELAC or in another college? I know I am wondering that too as far as selecting students for their program. I was checking on their website to see if they have a session to go to get more information about the program, but they don't. Bummer! As for the transcripts when do we have to summit them ASAP?? Is my first year applying soo I'm soo confuse.

PinkOlivee, same here this semester is the first for me but I do believe you need your transcripts at the time you plan to turn in your application according to their steps for the application procedure. I took my teas at the school that I took all of my prereqs which is COC. I found this school by researching different schools that have nursing programs so to be honest I have been applying to as many schools as I can and so far I have only heard back from one so far which was COC and I wasn't selected:( Elac will just be one more school to apply to to increase my chances of getting into a program:)

But maybe when you go Friday they will shed some light on some of our concerns because there website is a little confusing.

The website is kind of confusing, but I will ask questions when I go pick up an application. When did you go get the application??? Do you live around elac? What are your overall GPA and science GPA, if you do t mind me asking you??

PinkOlivee, I haven't picked up the application I plan on picking it up and turning it in on Monday. I do not live in the area, I actually live in Palmdale which is like an hour away. No problem at all :), my Overall GPA is 3.5 and for Sciences 3.0.

Demetria30, that's great I'll be going on Friday and turning it in asap, before the deadline which is 26 of May. Did you send all your transcripts over? Yeah is about an hour away or so, but if you get accepted it would be all worth it. Have you try applying to AVC ?? They say you might have more chances due to the fact that they say less people are in that area. Not bad my is 3.6 and science is 3.0 hope we make it !!! What you get on your teas exam??

PinkOlivee, I did not send my transcripts over because from what I read on their website it said to bring the transcripts directly to the nursing department along with the application so I figured that is what I was going to do. I planned to apply to AVC but I missed the deadline to submit my teas results by one day so I wouldn't be considered till spring 2018 application period so I will do that if I am not selected at any other schools this time around. the first time I took it I got a 62.7 and I retook it and got at 73.7 but most schools only wont my first score but it is considering passing so I wouldn't have to do a remediation plan or anything but for schools that select you because of points don't work out for me because I didn't do good so I wouldn't get any points in that area which means my chances of getting into a school that is based on points are slim. So all the schools that are lottery and waitlist I try to apply:)

Demetria30, I know it's a struggle to be on top of every school specially when they have different deadlines for each and everyone of them. If the AVC I'm going to even consider even though is about hr I think with traffic. I stay in North Hollywood close to the SFV, is not that far. For the spring selection for Spring 2018 the deadline is around September right?? Soo when do you have to take the teas test before the application deadline???

As for ELAC the deadline is on May, so after I apply and if I'm consider they will send you an invitation to take the teas test after the deadline ??? Idk if they work like that for every college, or you need the teas score before the application deadline ??? Is that the case there no way for me to study for it. I'm soo confused???

PinkOlivee, I am not sure how AVC is to be honest that is just what I was told when I called inquiring about applying, but I already took my TEAS so I would just be sending them over anyhow. I live in the Antelope Valley and it wouldn't be that bad of a drive for you since you would be going against traffic:) After AVC nursing department told me i missed the deadline I never pursued actually filling out the application or any of that since I plan to start this fall but If I don't get the news that I was selected then I would look into that. I would assume that sometime August would be a good time to give them a call to inquire about their spring selection.

As for ELAC I have no clue I plan on going Monday so hopefully whoever is there can shed some light on how they operate:)

PinkOlivee, I wasn't able to go to Elac yesterday because I ordered my transcripts but I haven't received them yet so I will have to go this coming Monday. Were you able to go Friday if so I am curious how did it go and if there is anything you could share that I might need to know???

Thank you:)

Hello Demitria30, Sorry for the delay I been busy trying to figure out the process for all these to much to do. Anyhow, yeah I did go on Friday it was really simple: The office is in the administration building G1 room 302, the application is front and back on one single pink sheet of paper. Its really simple, she did told me I needed my transcripts from Moorpark College, so I went back yesterday, I just dropped them off and left less than a minute. So I suggest for you to go with your transcripts when you go and file an application kill two birds with one stone :), you that you live far, you know? She did mention that she was going to call us to take the teas exam if we are taking it in ELAC which I am, if not like in your case they need it by June 1.

PinkOlivee, thank you that helps Yes I was assuming the transcripts would be an issue that is why I didn't go yesterday I knew I would have to go again, so next Monday I will be going :)

Oh yea did they mention anything about when we would be eligible to start or anything like that?
