Educational Path to Disaster Relief

Nurses Career Support

Published

I would like to explore the career path of working for a disaster team for the Red Cross or or another organization domestically. I know that it is something that I will not have a clear-cut reality of until I do it, I understand, but it is what I want to strive and if I can handle it and change my mind later, at least I tried.

I am wondering what opportunities are for LPNs (in which I am in the program). I am thinking of going on to get my ADN or BSN after I graduate. Would either of these more what organizations are looking for?

Thanks!

Yes, you most definitely are needed. I also am interested in volunteering with a disaster relief organization. I wanted to share a link with you I recently found. It is an article that is really informative. It gives you different organizations you can volunteer with and links to their websites.

I wish you the best of luck! :)
