Hey guys,
I am applying to ECU, Appalachian State, and UNC-Greensboro for the traditional BSN Program. Unfortunately, ECU's program is the only program that I can't find anything on. I've met with an advisor and have been accepted to the school itself. I met the needed score for the PAX-RN exam, I have my point for being an LPN, I have my 2 for having no repeats, and I have 8 points for my GPA, which is 3.7. I have 11 points total; however, the advisor said that it was on the lower end of the competitive range. Does anyone know anything more about the ranking system and what kind of numbers usually get in? Thank you guys in advance for your help!!

Hey, I just applied for ECU for spring 15 and got in so I have a lot of the admission stats!!! Admission for fall at ECU is generally 1 point more competitive than admission for spring. So if you are willing to wait another semester your chances are higher. You would also receive a point the semester AFTER being at ECU for 12 credit hours. So you could apply and attend and if you do not get in when you apply again you will have another point for being at ECU 12 credit hours, and will be applying for a less competitive semester! I will post admission stats because when I was in your position they really helped. If theres any way you could get up to 12 points i think you would almost be guaranteed admission because your GPA is very high. Most people that get admitted have been at ECU since they were a freshmen (giving them 2 points) or were a transfer student (giving them 1 point). I hope this helps you! Another thing to note is that after points the next thing they tick down by is GPA. So you could be at the very top of your point class for GPA because like i said most people have 1 or 2 points from their enrollment factoring in!

Thank you teedlepeep for all that information. I too applied to Spring 2015 and am on the waitlist. I am ranked as a 10 with a high GPA (3.89)... Do you know if they accept many applicants on the waitlist? Where did you find those stats? I am hoping to also be accepted since your stats said they accepted all 11's and I have a higher GPA... but I am so nervous. I have to take 12 hours at ECU to receive an 11 and will have to reapply if not accepted. Also do you know when applicants are able to schedule their classes after being accepted? Thank you for any information you are able to share! :) Hopefully I will be in class with you!
WOW! That is amazing! Well good news is I can almost guarantee that you are the top applicant and will be first choice. Ive only heard of two other people on the waitlist, one had a 3.7 and the other was much MUCH lower. From what I've been told by advisors ~6 people's acceptances are revoked due to whatever issues- whether it be they do not pass a class this semester (and seeing as how the lowest GPA accepted is on the low side, i can see this being a big possibility) or they fail their drug/ back ground check. AND good news is once you're accepted... the advisors actually make your schedule for you, i JUST got mine for spring. Id be happy to share it with you if you are curious. How it works is there are 2 labs and clinicals that differ for everyone and usually you have two labs on the same day (either mon tues or wed) and then another day your clinical (also on mon tues or wed). and then thurday and friday are lecture days. There are only two sections for each class and both are at the same time or one big class for the whole semester of students. So there is no flexibility or choices! They like to give you a day off if it is possible to do so, some unlucky students don't always get this but they try their best!!! Please let me know if I can help you at all or you want any more information :)! Congrats I know you've worked extremely hard and I really think and hope it will pay off for you!
OH and these stats were emailed to the pre nursing and nursing students by the advisors!
Hello,
thank you for all the information! I have another question..do you know the statistics for how many people graduate from the people that start the two year upper division class on time? I wasn't able to find that in the power points for orientation. Hope you can help í ½í¸‡
I am in search of that information as well!!! The only thing I can think of is to look up how many people took the NCLEX from ECU... but i haven't done that yet! 130 are admitted each semester though. My friend who is in her 3rd semester says she has only known a few to have dropped out, so thats good at least!

I am not sure if this is what you were asking, but I just finished my first semester in nursing school at ECU. Out of my first semester class about 26 people failed a course, and 6 of those are out for good (failed more than 1). You cannot make lower than a 78 in the classes in order to pass. You are not allowed to fail more than 1 course over the 2 year time span. I don't want this to sound scary, because it is doable 100%. I came out of my first semester (one of the hardest), with all A's and B's. You're GPA is very strong and you will probably thrive in this program! The ECU College of Nursing has been the hardest/best experience of my life! Good luck!!! Hope to see you in those purple scrubs this fall :)
I heard about this! Are you talking about patho? We have our first test next week do you have any study suggestions for that class? I am OVER LOADED with information!!!!!
I'm just talking about in general, not necessarily Patho. I would just go through her book and take notes on all the bolded stuff. If you need any help I'd be glad to talk to you, just send me a private message.
That's what I wanted to know, thank you and congratulations on your great grades! Hope to meet you :)
