ECS case management

I’m looking at applying for an ECS case management position.  It would be involve working at a LTC with psychiatric patients. I would stay available at my current position for bedside experience but this move is due to a family situation and my kids (one is special needs).  What can I expect from a position like this?  Is it good for career growth?
