This might sound like a really dumb question but please humor me because I am new into researching all this. I have a BA and am trying to get my BSN. I would like to do the classes online if at all possible because right now I have to live in Germany for the next two years. Is there a way to do the program designed for the RN to BSN that so many of the online schools (like U of Phoneix etc) offer and then do clinicals in the States when I get back? If not then is there any other way to accomplish this goal or do I need to wait until I get back to the States. Again..I apologize for the stupid questions..but I honestly have no clue! Thanks!

Stacey,
Here is a new program that I found through University of Wisconsin. It is for people with a Bachelors that want to get their BSN online.
Check it out...

Also there is Deaconess College of Nursing...that offers an online ASN. One of our fellow ALLNURSES buddies "LTNurse" is currently finishing up this program from Germany.

Now keep in mind that both of these programs will require some travel to the states at specific times in the program.
Hope this helps...
Cheri :)
Thanks Cheri! That helps a lot! :-) I really appreciate it. I hadn't come across this program yet in my perusing the 'Net. :-)
Thanks again. :-)

This program doesn't have clinicals, but for the last course where you follow a management person for a day and write a paper.
Are you working as a nurse currently in Germany?

No, I am not a nurse yet. This is the problem. Most of the online programs require RN already for a BSN. I just have a Bachelor's degree in History and am going to be doing a career change. I am a Mil. spouse so therefore am stuck here in Germany for 2 years and then..who knows where! But I really would like to become a nurse while we are still stationed over here so that I can work when we get back to the states. I figure with some of the prereqs I didn't take with my last degree it will take me 1.5 years to do. Which would be perfect if I can find programs to do from here that don't require you to be an RN already. I am just an ARC volunteer right now.
