I was told they will be meeting starting May 17th and will be having interviews at the end of May and early June. I was told everything will be done before July. My gpa was 3.7, I have almost 1.5 years ICU experience and my GRE was 1210 (550 V and 660Q) with a 4 on the writing. What about you?

Well my GPA and GRE suck 3.4 and 1050 but I have 10 years nursing experience with 6 in CTICU. So I'm not holding my breath..lol

It's my understanding Duke likes 2 types...those with good numbers and those with good experience. Where else did you apply? I'm waiting to hear from Barry as well. Are you in chi-town? I'm in Cali.

yes i am in chicago, i applied at east and west carolina and usc, i'm interviewing at ecu in a couple weeks. and i have a couple schools lined up in case all those falls through..lol

you live in california? why the heck you want to come all the way out here?

I'm originally from the east coast. Cali is not all it's cracked up to be. Also a horrible state for CRNA jobs. I have some schools lined up for the fall if Duke and Barry don't come through for January. You didn't apply to Rosalind Frankilin?

This is so funny, jrv100! I'm in Cali too (San Diego) and I applied to Barry and Duke as well! What a small world! I turned in my application on April 28th and still haven't heard anything from Duke. Have you guys? Barry was nice enough to inform me that my Organic Chemistry class isn't valid (took it Summer 2005), so I'm scrambling for a summer course now. I figure since I waited until the last minute to turn in my application, it will take a while to receive some feedback. Any thoughts from you guys?

You won't hear from Duke until after they review files starting next Monday. They will set up interviews for the end of May and the start of June. Everything will be done before July. My file was complete with Barry on March 30th but still no word.

What are your stats?

I am too waiting. Applied to Duke, ECU, and Western. Have an interview at ECU on the 8th of June. Keeping fingers crossed. Overall GPA not great 3.2 but 3.93 for BSN. GRE 1030. Got 5 years in Surgical Trauma Neruo ICU and also have my CCRN cert. Keeping my fingers crossed. Lots of Duke students do their rotation through my hospital. They seem to really enjoy the program. How do you know all this? Do you have some inside man? :) What do you mean your "file was complete?" Is that your application? I've got 3 years SICU experience, 3.6 GPA and a 1010 GRE (not competetive by any means) with a 4.5 writing. The community college org chem class is full already, so I guess I'm going to have to shell out 2K for an online course. Just when I was trying to "financially prepare myself"!!!!
