Drug calculations

Hi

I am a HNC applying for adult nursing this year. I get 352 hours placement. I see the nurses giving out drugs while I make beds. What I would like to know is this:

Do nurses giving out drugs use calculators? I know this might sound daft but do they and can they?

I am still going to improve my mental skills though.

But do and can they use calculators?

    Yes they can and I have done in the past but I do prefer to put pen to paper

    You can use calculators but you also need to be able to do on paper.
