I know that ppl don't know much about this illness but iit seems that the patients are always on the losing end. Did you have training for my illness before you received your degrees?

Yes we covered sickle cell rather extensively in theory, and I took care of quite a few pediatric patients with sickle cell in clinical. One of the advantages for us as learners (not at all a plus for patients) having clinicals in the fall semester was that there were many pediatric patients in hospital with sickle cell crisis.
The best to you :)

God, I hope schools are covering SCD. My most recent SCD pt was a 55 year old female in vaso-occlusive crisis. Very scary condition, pushed 10mg of dilaudid IV, yikes!
