Do I take Pathophysiology?

I have completed all the standard nursing prerequisite courses and am in the process of applying to various nursing programs. Do I take patho now or wait until I get accepted in a program? I heard some programs want you to take "their" patho class. Thoughts?

I would look at the requirements for each of the programs that you are considering and then make a decision accordingly. But if it were me, I would take the course anyway, simply for my own personal edification. It can't hurt, especially if you earn an A.

Hi! I'm in the process of applying as well. Definitely look at the prereqs for your nursing programs. Some programs require you to take both pathophysiology and pharmacology as a prereq. Let us know what you decide to do. Good luck!

I saw Patho not as a prereq, but as a course in most nursing school programs, so I decided to move forward. I LOVE it. I have an AMAZING professor which makes all the difference in the world. If for some stupid political college reason I ever have to take it over again, I'll ace it. So far it's a fun class. Lots to memorize and know of course, but fun.

i am also working on pre-reqs through portage and noticed the patho as a course at the university i plan to attend and i inquired to the program about it and got the reply that she could not answer the question that the course would have to be reviewed after acceptance into the program. so i am planning on taking it and going for it last if they accept it they accept it if they dont then at least i have seen the material and maybe have a head start.
