Do I have enough RN experience for CRNA school?

Hello,

I'm hoping for a little advice related to RN experience needed before applying to CRNA school...

Currently, I am a an RN working in a 30 bed MICU at a large teaching hospital. I graduated from an accelerated BSN program in July of 07' with a 3.8 GPA. I have been working at the MICU since graduation and will have 2 years experience before applying to CRNA school. I also have a BA in psychology from UCLA, and 5+ experience working at non-profits and a 3rd party medical reviewing company (hopefully this all adds to being a well-rounded candidate?). I am involved with the infection control committee at my hospital as well as the clinical research committee.

With that said, can anyone suggest anything else I can do to prepare myself for CRNA applications? (I also plan to take the CCRN examination in May)

Thanks for your help!

Get the CCRN and go for it. Just make sure you understand the CCRN material and apply it to your practice rather than just knowing it to pass a test. Do that and your golden. Have you taken the GRE? Don't forget you need to do that as well for most programs.

Take GRE if you haven't already. Sounds like you're already pretty competitive. Good luck!

Hey NiteyNite,

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely learn as much as possible during the CCRN review; and, I have already taken the GRE (pretty sure it was taken within the last 5 years...)
