DNP in U of M

Took the TOEFL in 1997...test wasn't that hard. If you have good command of conversational English you should be OK in most parts of the test. I didn't actually prepare for the test at all. There is a final part where you write a composition from a choice of topics, I think you should do OK based on how you are writing your posts here at allnurses.

Took the GRE in 2001...I tried to do a lot of practice exams and I think that's what most people did especially with the Math part. Some people made flash cards of each difficult word commonly encountered in the GRE and tried to memorize their definition that way.

Took the CGFNS in 1994...at the time, the test was part Nursing and part English (similar to TOEFL). I don't know if it's still the same now. I reviewed for the nursing part using NCLEX study materials and NCLEX practice test questions. The English part, I didn't prepare for at all and didn't have any problems during the test. Some examinees (in the Philippines) complained that if the quality of the sound system in the exam hall is poor, it's hard to understand the questions that test your ability to listen and understand spoken English heard through the speaker system. Hopefully, you wouldn't have that problem.

Took the NCLEX in 1995...did tons of practice exams from multiple sources (mostly Mosby, NSNA, Lippincott).
