I know the program only starts on even numbered years. My question is, how long of a wait is there to get into the program. I am an older student and since it has been awhile since I was in high school I feel I would benefit from competing a math, biology and chemistry refresher plus the normal prerequisites before I can go on the wait list and that would potentially have me not able to add my name until January 2016. If the program begins August of 2016 what are my chances of getting in or would the wait list already be so long by that point?

I think the waiting list varies. I'm not sure about the part time program, as I did the full time. I know I went on the waiting list in July 2009...I got a letter of acceptance in February 2010 stating I was accepted to start in August 2010--so a little over a year is what it took. But that also was a couple of years ago as well. My best advice is to make sure you do ALL of your pre reqs before actually starting the program. It's a lot of work, and I can't imagine adding other classes on top of it. On another note, dmacc has an exceptional nursing program! I'm very proud of the fact that I graduated from dmacc. The instructors are amazing. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else

I contacted DMACC in January 2014 to enroll evenings. I was notified a seat was available for me May 2014 for an August 2014 start.
So...NO WAIT for the evening program. It's currently full as it is July/nearly August.
DMACC had a one semester lag for Boone, Ankeny, Newton, Carroll when I was seating for Urban evenings. I think they start Spring and Fall. So...you can apply now and start any of those campuses the next semester as long as you have completed the requirements for admission.
I took CNA at Mercy as the 150 hours can be completed in one semester versus 2 at DMACC. Same price as DMACC but quick.
