Direct Entry Program

Can anyone help me out with a direct entry program? I have a 2.9 GPA with a degree in Geoscience. I have a 3.5 in prerequisites. I have not taken the GRE yet. I am planning on taking some time and doing some volunteer work at a women's clinic in Nicaragua and completing a CNA at some point. I have my eyes on Vanderbilt, but feeling like it is out of my reach. I am not a youngster either. I am 37 and have worked several different jobs in the past including home health care.Ads by Google

If the graduate entry program is your ultimate goal, then definitely cast a wide net and apply to various program. These programs are amazing, but intense. Not sure what they look for in a candidate, but the background is very diverse and that adds to the richness of the program. Many under grad majors varied and ranged from biochemistry, informatics, engineering, to business and hospitality management :)

I agree that you should apply broadly. Do not apply to just one or two progams. Your GPA is low, so hopefully you can do very well on the GRE to make up for it. Also, your prereqs are strong as well, so that's good. Maybe you can contact schools to see if they have a GPA cut-off? You wouldn't want to waste your money applying to programs that are automatically going to cut you because of the low undergrad GPA.
