I'm new to this site, so hope this thread is in the right place.
I have been searching for an online program that fits my needs, in the most efficient (quickest!) manner possible.
I have a ASN degree and hold an RN license. I also have a BA degree in a non-nursing field.
I want to find a direct entry program for an RN with a non-nursing BA--that will get me a NP degree/certification in the end. I don't want to go the route of RN to BSN to MSN/NP. As I feel I will be wasting a lot of time re-taking classes I've already taken, etc. . .
All I'm finding on line are the direct entry MSN--but not that lead to a Nurse Practitioner degree-(they are usually in administration, education or informatics).
ugh. Anyone who knows of a program like this out there?

I always thought direct entry programs referred to those that admit people with non-nursing degrees (I'm a grad of one). I have seen RN to MSN programs referred to as "bridge programs", and I don't think I've seen any that are available on-line. I could be wrong, but using different terminology in your search might give you better info. Good luck!!!

You should check out Frontier School of Midwifery and Family nursing. The website is www.midwives.org the offer FNP, WHCNP and CNM. You can enter with a non-nursing related bachelors as an RN directly into their MSN program. They have an awesome reputation and I have heard nothing but good things! I just recently found out that I have been accepted into their ASN-MSN bridge program. The school is based out of Hyden,KY and is a non-profit private school. Hope this helps!
