difference?

hey everyone... i'm pretty new to this whole nursing thing. i'll be starting school next year but i'm not sure which school i'm going to yet. so here's my story. i live in ohio and my boyfriend wants to move to florida to go to school down there, so i was looking for a nursing school and found one,(herzing college). so i was going to go to school up here to be a lpn. but at herzing there's a program for asn. is an asn an lpn or an rn? or is it something totally different? i'm really confused about that. so i'm sure some of you guys know what the difference is, or if there is one at all. if you have any info at all please help! thanks

ASN = associate degree in nursing = RN

I am pretty sure an ASN, is Associate of Science in Nursing, which should make it an RN degree. I am more familier with ADN (associate degree in Nursing) which is a 2 year RN degree. I think it just depends on the area of the country you live as to what they call it, whether it be ASN or ADN. Most LPN programs are diploma or 1 year certificates. I am graduating next week from a LPN program and will continue on for my RN, I liked the option of being able to work and gain some experience while getting my RN. It's all a matter of choice, both programs are good. I hope this helps, good luck to you!

Blessings from TEXAS!!
