Did anyone do the bridge program at SPC?

I am planning on applying to the SPC bridge program in a few weeks. I am waiting for my Micro to finish before I apply. Unfortunately my science gpa is only 2.5 and it needs to be 2.75 so If I continue doing as well as I have been I can be eligible to apply. Anyways, I am just curious if the bridge program usually fills or are there usually slots open this late in the game? Does anyone know if I would still have time to apply and get in for fall 2010? My micro ends on 7/17 and the fall program begins 8/23, only 5 weeks difference. I would rather start in fall than spring (for obvious reasons) I know that there are no deadlines per se, so I am just hopeful that not all 36 slots fill before I can apply. Any insight is appreciated.

I start SPC bridge in August; orientation is June 30 :)

You can find out if there are available seats for Aug by using this form Health Program Advising Request

Thanks, I have used that form before and they just send me general info or an info packet. I am holding out hope at getting into the Aug class, but since orientation is June 30th I don't think it's likely. In the past I know that they have held 2 orientations, one pretty early on and one a bit closer to the start date. They are not doing that this semester? Oh well a Jan start isn't that far off. How long after you applied did you hear back?

I applied back in May after finishing micro as well. Went to see an advisor yesterday to find out that all 36 slots have been filled for fall 2010 and 18 so far for spring 2011. So I'm definitely in for spring and an alternate for fall 2010.

Yes, that is what I heard. The LPN-RN class is full for fall and 1/2 full for Spring as well. Seeing as how I can't even apply until after summer session. I may not be able to even get into spring! I am really starting to lead towards Galen. If I started there in August (if it's not full) I would be done 11/11 rather than 5/12 for the spring class. I am honestly willing to pay the price to be done 6 mos sooner.

Is SPC bridge program first come first serve?? Can you apply if you live out of county? I start the LPN program at Erwin in June. Very concern about finding a bridge program, as soon as I am done w/ the LPN program.

Yes it's first come first served, but make sure you meet all the requirements before you apply. Good Luck!

Im previous post says it is three terms long, is that about a year and half??

Yes, as far as I know it still is 3 terms long and Term 1 is the only one that's offered in the summer. This is why I ultimately decided to go elsewhere, I didn't want to start in Jan of 2011 and not be done til May of 2012, but if you start in May you go straight through.
