Declaratory Order

I have a question About a declaratory order and when I should do it? Im in the process of applying for nursing school in Texas. The school told me to go ahead and do a declaratory order is this what I should do even before I get accepted since it takes a year or should I wait until I am asked?

    I had to do the same and I'm glad I did prior to starting nursing since it took two years to find out the outcome and if so could sit for the NCLEX exam.
