Hi all!
So I've been debating between nursing and higher medicine for some time. I've always considered that surgery is my passion, specifically cardiothoracics, but it doesn't seem like it's in the cards for me anymore. Instead, I've decided to go with my other top career choice of becoming a CRNA. The reason I need some advice is because at this point in my education, I have to make a decision. I am about a semester away from completing an A.Sc. in Biology with most of my pre-reqs for nursing completed. I had decided early on that if becoming a doctor didn't pan out, I wanted nursing to be my backup so I geared my education towards that.
What I want to know is if I should continue on towards finishing my A.Sc., get my B.Sc. and then do a program to make that into a BSN, or if I should do the rest of my pre-reqs, become an ADN, get my ICU shifts out of the way, and then become a BSN with CRNA in the future?
Any advice is much appreciated!

I don't think there is much of a good argument for getting a bachelor's degree in bio if you aren't going to need it and already know you want to go into nursing. Why waste time and money on a degree that isn't going to help you? Doing an ABSN or second degree program after will cost you more and take more time overall.
Getting your ADN or getting your associates in bio and then doing a bsn program seems like the most logical options. An ADN will definitely get you to nursing faster I'd think.
I appreciate the response. After talking with a few other people, visiting a few forums, etc. I think I'm gonna go the ADN route. That way, I'll have my degree, I can get my 1-2 yrs experience in OB and save time as I work on my BSN.
