Debating taking the TEAS Test

Hi Everyone!

I live in the Boston area and although there are a lot of accelerated BSN program options it has been tough for me to try and narrow down schools to apply to since they all have different start dates and pre-requisite courses. I want to apply for summer 2018 start since I won't have my pre-requisite courses completed for a lot of the spring 2018 start schools. My top schools to apply to were MGH Institute of Health Professions, Simmons & Umass Amherst- all of these schools do not require the TEAS test in order to apply but I just recently found out MGH is requiring it for all applicants starting summer 2018 submissions. I don't want to only apply to two schools, get denied then have to wait another year to apply to schools. If I take the TEAS test then I will be eligible to apply to MGH as well as the UMASS Boston school. What is the TEAS test like and do you all think it would be worth it for me to take?

Thank you in advance for all your insight! :)

I found the TEAS Mastery app on my phone to be incredibly helpful. I think it was $14.99. If you start going through those questions, it will give you a very good idea of what the TEAS is like, and how well-prepared you are for it. In my experience, it was worth every penny and then some.

Using their questions as a tool to help you decide in what areas to dig deeper with your studying (through free resources such as Khan academy and Crash Course videos on YouTube, etc) will help you be over prepared, IMO, and make the actual exam no big deal.

Don't get me wrong. It IS a big deal. But that app was more difficult in some areas than the actual exam questions.
