Tell me how you guys like that!! I am taking some pre courses since they said i neede 25 credits before i enroll. Then i will be attending there. I am a little worried about the on line part. Do they still do hands on, what do they do about clinicals?????
Actually, I just got back from orientation and there is a chance the online program is going to eliminated due to poor pass rates. They're hopeful that it won't be because of the changes they've made, but they won't really find out until after the hearing in April. I can scan the letter they gave us for you guys to read.
I find that very doubtful. Rumors always abound where ever you go. Remember, the online program is fully accrediated by the NLN. If there is poor pass rates it comes down to students and how they utilize their resources. I am very confident that the online program will stay!!!
I'm repeating what the staff told us today at orientation. It's not a rumor. Like I said, I'll scan the letter for anyone who wants to read it. I'm sure the program will survive too because of the changes they made, but they did want us to know there is a possibility that they could lose it.

Just in case you guys haven't seen the other posts yet, the online ADN program through Deaconess currently has a "stay" for current students. The fate of DCN online will be decided at the end of April.
At the Dec. MO State Board of Nursing meeting, it was decided initially that the program would be discontinued (they only ever had initial board approval, never full approval) due to 2 sets of low board pass rates (66%, 42% - you can view this on the dept of professional regulation website). On January 6, the program received a stay, pending a thorough legal investigation, and the decision will be given in April.
I actually spoke with the MO BON because I wasn't sure how accurate the information was that I got. It was accurate.
