Shoes that is. I have a 4 month old pair of Dansko Professional type clogs (closed heel type) that announce my arrival in a room 10 feet ahead of me! Anyone know how to take that annoying squeaky noise out? What can I wash or rub into the soles? My co-workers wear the exact same shoes and no one else makes racket! Anyone have an idea please share it. (The floors of course are linoleum.):imbar

You might try roughing up the sole a little bit with a wire brush. Not too much, though! That should cut out some of the "stickiness" that causes the squeak.
Thanks.
I tried alchohol wipes, adhesive remover, and using rough nail files on them today. They stopped squeaking for a minute, then back to the noise. Oh well. Just annoys me.

Do they squeak on all floors or just some? I have a pair of clogs that only squeak on freshly waxed floors. have asked head of housekeeping, and had him puzzled, because they don`t sqeak on all the fresh floors, and it is so strange to be merrily walking along, and all of a sudden you cross this invisible line, and there it goes..... Have been known to slip them off, and go into room in socks( Iknow,I know.... ),just so that durned squeak, squeak won`t wake up patients......Hope someone has an idea, have tried all previously listed....Just don`t wear these shoes very much now, and they are sooo comfy........Stick to my Nikes, they never squeak.

I have a co-worker who returned a pair of work shoes after she had worn them for three months because they squeaked. The store clerk told her that there had been many complaints about her particular kind of shoes so they replaced them. It wouldn't hurt for you to check with the store where you bought them or even contact the manufacturer. If they know of a problem, they may replace them for you.

Good idea, thanks.

I do not have a helpful response, but maybe one that will make you giggle a little. As I was reading your post, I had this vision of Nurse Ratchet in "One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest." :roll
Thought I would share that with you all. Gret movie if you haven't seen it, but lots of squeeky shoes, too. :roll
:roll It made me giggle. That nurse is still cool in my opinion...just misunderstood....says sharann as she stealthily squeaks away down the hospital corridor...

Return them to Dansko. It's manufac. issue. :)
My Ace Rep here in San Diego exchanged mine out.
They squeaked on any surface while walking.
:)
