Is there anyone currently in the program offered at Methodist Hospitals in Dallas - thru the El Centro program out there? I'd like to know how the program works. I've called the volunteer desk and they are not very helpful. They may be overwhelmed by the number of people wanting to volunteer (free tuition) all of a sudden. I know they have a great program, but I don't have any relatives working there and want to know how do you volunteer AND go to school.:bowingpur

I spoke with Andrea, one of the representives for the program, and she told me that you have to be an employee at one of Methodist's hospitals (employeed for at least 6 months), volunteer or a family member to an employee. The program is not as competitive as the community college program. You are only competing against other employees. All your clinicals will be done among Methodist's three hospitals; Charlton, Methodist Dallas, and Mansfield. The highest priority is given among employees. You will still have to meet the requirements of El Centro's nursing program but you will apply to Methodist's Nursing Program once those requirements are fulfilled. Good luck! :nuke:
