CVICU Externship

I spoke with a recruiter at a large hospital near me yesterday about externship positions, and when she asked what my ultimate dream job was I said I wanted to work in ICU, preferably doing cardiac care. After speaking for a while (the recruiter is also a nurse) she set me up with an interview for an externship in the CVICU, literally my dream job at that hospital which is known for their cardiac care. I had originally inquired about an externship on a regular cardiac floor, but she said since this was where I ultimately wanted to be, “why not go for it”. So she forwarded my resume and transcripts to the nurse manager in the CVICU, who wanted to set up an appointment.

My question is this: She recommended that I do some “studying” before the interview, and be prepared. I can imagine what types of things they do in the CVICU, and am pretty comfortable with cardiac content, but thought maybe some folks here would have some good tips for things to prepare to discuss specifically.

How did the interview go? Are you able to share the externship site with me? I am interested please! (:
