Cummulative GPA!?!?!

So I am looking at the CCA/UC nursing program. I went to an information meeting today and was told that I had to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher from ALL the schools I have ever attended. I tried my hand at college a couple other times and did not do so well. About 8 years ago I tried and ended up dropping out my 3rd semester because I was working 70hrs a week and trying to go to school full time and had a little break down from lack of sleep and instead of dropping my classes I just ended up failing so my GPA was prob around a 2. I did great the 1st semester and ok the 2nd. Then a few years ago I tried my hand at online school. NO GO. Again working to much and online is not for me. My GPA there was .79! Again poor decision making.

SOOOOO..... I would be unable to get a 3.0 even if I get all A's on my prerequisites.

My question is do I have to tell them about my past schools?

I think my GPA from 20+ years ago are what killed my chances at CU. However, when I looked into UNC, they only counted the last 45 credits and ones such as A&P that they weigh higher (if they aren't in that 45 credits).

I was told (sorry, can't remember where) that if I omitted any school and they found out later it was grounds for expulsion. UNC only cared about previous schools if they were transferring in the courses or it was within that 45 credits.

You need to read the code of conduct for the school, if they say you have to include it, then I would. I don't think anything would be worse that getting kicked out of a program half way because of lying... try getting into ANY program after that!

There are other programs out there, don't give up!!!

Good luck!
