I'm hoping this is the correct place to ask this.
I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for anywhere else so, maybe someone here can help me out? I know I need something like 1,000 practice hours in trauma nursing in order to sit for this exam, but does Trauma step down hours count towards that? And can I get a job on a trauma step down floor without previous trauma experience?
Thanks for any help, it's much appreciated.

As to writing the Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), the only requirement is holding a current, unrestricted nursing license in any U.S. state or territory. The 1000 practice hours are recommended, rather than required. Without exposure to caring for the trauma patient, however, you might not be familiar with some of the concepts. As to obtaining a position on trauma stepdown as a new grad, this should be obtainable.
By the way, a CTRN is a Certified Transport Registered Nurse.
Best wishes in both writing the TCRN, as well as the job search.
