CSULB Spring 2020

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for the upcoming spring admission, so I thought I should start one. Who is applying to CSULB this upcoming semester for spring 2020? I've finished all my pre-requisites. I just need to take TEAS which I am taking in early June. I would love to hear from other applicants and current CSULB nursing students.

Hope to hear back from you all and good luck :)!

I know this is sounds like a dumb question, but we don't need to bring a 2x2 passport photo, do we? Previous years had to do this, but I didn't see this instruction in our emails. My other question is, did anyone send official transcripts to the school? The initial email we received back in August/September said not to until it is requested, but CSULB's transfer student instructions says that they are to be submitted by October.

I believe that we only need to have an ID. I haven't yet submitted my transcripts but I think I will today

In the email they only said to bring an ID so that's all I'm bringing. I haven't submitted transcripts because they said we shouldn't do it unless requested. I believe we will have to submit them only if we're offered admission

We can ask them about our transcripts at the communication exercise

That's what I figured, but I got scared that the main school requires all student's official transcripts before we will even know if we have been offered admissions to the school.

Yeah I know, it's confusing. In the past students had to submit transcripts with the nursing application. I think they just changed that. But we can ask them on Wednesday just to make sure we're doing everything right

I had my exercise a few hours ago, and it was nice meeting some of you. How did everyone feel about the interview today? I almost finished the last exercise (one item to spare), so I am worried that will disqualify me. I have no idea what it is that they are judging us on...

I heard that it’s not as important that you finish but more of how you gave the instructions and communicated with your partner. I think you should be fine!(: I feel like I didn’t really say much in the group discussion so I hope that doesn’t make me fail ?

Hey everyone! Does anyone know how long it took after the interviews to send responses in the previous semesters? I'm impatient haha

She said around 4 weeks

I think last year they were able to check the portal on Oct. 31 (approx. 2 weeks after the communication exercise) to see whether or not they were accepted. So maybe around the first or second week of November for us since we had the communication exercise a week later than they did. During the communication exercise we asked and they said 3-4 weeks. But I feel like they overshoot it so they don't have a bunch of people calling them. (or at least I'm hoping they do because the suspense is killing me)

I appreciate your response, and I hope you are right.

In regards to your concern over your performance in the group discussion of the 2 exercises, I’m not totally sure the questions were part of their requirement or if it was more of a way to inform them if we think it’s a useful approach to assessing applicants. I hope they don’t weigh it too heavily either because I too found it challenging to get a chance to speak. If you spoke a little, you’re probably good.
