You have to log into their website at http://www.csulb.edu/admissions/applicant-self-service

to check your application status. I didn't get in....

Aw me too! I wish we knew why...I thought I would definitely get in...guess it’s very competitive!

hey there,

i got my acceptance email on friday. i heard about the application status trick and was religiously checking, but even now it still says “in process”.

best of luck to everyone!?

Sorry to hear about those who did not get in. The good news is that cal state long beach isn’t the end all be all.. keep applying ?

I got my acceptance email a couple of days ago. However, I also got into UCLA ‘S program and now I am confused about which program to attend. UCLA is closer to my house, but is also double the price of cal state long beach. I don’t want to leave school with a large amount of debt especially because I still have undergraduate loans. There offer very minimal financially aid which is basically all loans.

Have anyone heard about UCLA FNP program versus cal state long beach FNP program ? I also heard that there is a lot of self teaching at UCLA, and that the teachers aren’t as hands on but I’m not to try how true this is ?

In response to R.Lacanilao on the above post (April 20). I know one person who went to CSULB for her women's NP and another friend who went to UCLA for peds NP. The CSU student said it was great and she really felt like she got a great education at a great price. The UCLA friend (who had gone to CSULB prior for her undergrad bsn) said UCLA was good but not like super great. I think she was trying to say for double the price and the horrible commute (she commuted to UCLA from Orange County), I think she wonders if it was really worth it. She had no complaints though. Personally, I would definitely go to CSULB, even if I got into both. An extra $20k just doesn't seem worth it to me, as much as I love UCLA and was an alumni there for my first degree. In the end, it's about learning the content, feeling supported, and not having so much student debt (speaking from experience here). Good luck! and let us know what you decide.
