Question

CRNA Prep Program - Recommendations?

One of the schools I am looking at recommended doing a CRNA prep program - does anyone have any recommendations on this? Thanks so much for any input and advice!

University of the Incarnate Word offers a course called NURS 6301 Transition into Nurse Anesthesiology: Foundational Knowledge for Advanced Study.  (online self paced)

CRNA schools love courses like this one (which is actually hard to find) because it is a graduate level science course that gets your feet wet into what the program is like.

Scroll half way down the page the info is listed under "Prepare yourself for a CRNA program".

Hope that helps! ?

Thank you!! Have you taken this course? And if so, did you go on to CRNA school with this program or a different one? Thanks!

You're so welcome! I took a similar course with a different University and then also attended CRNA school there after. Not UIW— 2026 is their first cohort actually !

My school, however, no longer offers the course.

Hi! Just curious, did you end up taking the UIW prerequisite course?

Im enrolled in this class for Spring 2027. Are any of you applying for 2027 CRNA program at UIW?

I was planning to, however I was debating on taking this class or not. It was quite expensive!

Yea it's $3500 dollars

Yeah... I feel like it's worth it though. I wanna get an upper leg on what I'm about to get myself into. Would def help with some of my anxiety I have about all the content and knowledge we need to know going in.. Gives you a boost on how and what you need to be focusing on. I want to get a really good knowledge base in the beginning of this journey :)
