is anyone else having a hard time finding contracts?
i've been an ICU nurse for 5 years with experience in CCU, Trauma, Neuro, Burn, Surgical, Medical and Transplants and have completed 3 years of successful travel assignments.
I'm coming up dry!!!

You're not alone. Although I am looking in a tri-state area, all I keep getting are bum leads or specialties I'm not qualified for. When I started the traveling process back in Feb, I could have had my pick. Now, good luck. I'm sure if you're able to go anywhere, options are more open.

Where are you looking to travel? It seems like Fl is dry currently. There are ICU positions in SC and NC and also VA. I have found that some places are taking their time interviewing.
You're not alone, seems like alot of travelers are coming up empty.
Good luck.

I am surprised that your finding a hard time finding a contract. I don't even have a full 3 years ICU experience and I am signed up until April. Maybe it is the company your dealing with.

Glad I'm not the only one finding it hard. I am looking for a specific area so expect a little difficulty. Have been told that the interviews will commence next week. Was offered a rousing "good luck". Not the attitude I like from my recruiter.

yeah, i too am looking for a specific place! its a big city too!
i was talking to a few other people who are having a hard time with contracts. apparently, hospitals in general are having a lower census overall (generally), staff arent leaving their jobs because of the economy and hospitals are less likely to be paying for traveler contracts unless its a big need. my recruiter was saying theres markedly less jobs available now than there were 6 months ago, and they are having lots of travelers applying for the same job all over the country... i'm with AMN so i have pretty large pool of options...
i re-signed at my current place for a while.
