Continuing Education

There are many websites that offer free CEs for nurses. A Google search can take you to a list of many of those sites where you can peruse the listings for those offerings that appeal to your interests. Additionally, some other sites that charge for the majority of their CEs may offer a course for free each month. Check with any nursing organizations you are a member of for their free or reduced cost offerings. Check with your employer- they may have an arrangement with CE providers where you can complete some for free- my facility is partnered with CE direct. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of the free CEs are usually of lower hours- between that and my specialty certification requiring that I complete a set number of hours relative to my specialty, I find that I would almost prefer to pay for those relevant to my practice that provide a higher number of hours, especially when I can find several that directly apply to my interests.
