Hello, I am an RN originally registered in CA but never have practiced in the state. I also hold licenses in WI and DC where I have been working the past two years. I just renewed my CA nursing license however and did not have to complete any CE requirements because it was my first time renewing. My question is--and I know I sound naive asking--how does one obtain CE credits?
Thanks!

There are various sources of CE units. Check with the staff education departments of local hospitals. Sometimes they allow members of the public to attend. Do an internet search for providers. That is the easiest. Try NetCE Continuing Education Online for a start.

There are several ways in California to obtain CE units, I don't really like the online way so I began looking for schools that were approved by the nursing association. There is one in Oakland (not sure where you are located). It's a massage school but they are a vocational school and any of their classes are approved for CE's. This was good because I work with the elderly so it fit my profession, look into it. It was a great experience and it's not too pricey. Good luck!
school is called McKinnon Body Therapy Center.
