At the end of a phone interview I had for a staff nurse position at a big hospital, they scheduled my face-to-face interview two weeks from now. They gave me the name of the RN manager who will interview me. Is it a good idea for me to contact the manager by letter, card, or email before the interview to show my enthusiasm? If so, what should I say? Or should I be safe and not contact her before the interview? I want to give the impression that I am really serious about this position. Thanks.

I have had a ton of interviews.
I think contacting the manager would not be beneficial. You need to take into account the time that managers need to devote to interviewing. They REALLY don't want to take time pre-interviewing.
You can impress them in the interview by being 15 minutes early..
appear confident (even if this requires an acting class)..
tell the manager how you can fulfill THEIR needs as described in the job position .
Good luck.. keep us posted!
