Computer/Printer

Alright, y'all, I've been procrastinating on getting my major nursing school purchases done because I just had my partner come home from deployment and we spent a few weeks together and now he's back on base and I realized.... nursing school starts in a month and I don't have a laptop or printer yet.

I've been a Mac fangirl when it comes to my personal computers, but I know Mac is really not the best for word-processing/research. In all my office jobs, I've used PC's and I think I want a PC. I also need it to be a laptop or laplet because I don't have room for a full desktop set-up in my tiny apartment. I've been reading up and heard that the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a nice machine that runs like a desktop, so I'm considering that, but I wanted to hear other input as well.

The following are the minimum computer requirements for my school:

Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, MAC OS 10.7.3+

4 GB RAM Memory

20 Gigabytes of Available Hard Drive Space

Anti‐Virus Software, w/ Current Virus Definitions. (ex. Microsoft Security Essential, AVG, etc.)

One of the Following Web Browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 10+, Safari 6+, Mozilla Firefox 31+, Chrome 31+

Adobe Reader 11+

Adobe Flash Player 18+

VPN Access – Cisco Mobility Client & AnyConnect

Java Version 8+

Also, recommendations for a printer/scanner combo that can fit in a small space would be great as well!
